Weekly Update #29

Hello everyone,
Apologies for the very belated update this week - I've been feeling the strain from work I'm afraid and not had a minute to send this out.
Never mind all that now though, here we go!
Branch Meeting
This week's meeting is our long-awaited socialism and women's liberation. We have a guest speaker from the Central Committee of the party coming up to address us, and it should be an excellent meeting and discussion. Come along and bring your friends!

TOMORROW NIGHT, 7 pm, West End Community Centre (Mackworth Road, near Britannia Mill)

Hot Summer
It looks like strikes are back on this summer, with the FBU, NUT and Unison engaged in national action and upsurges in recent action including the continuing dispute between the RMT and TfL in London. After a tumultuous few years in the class it is great to see trades unions willing to take action again. More details as we have them, but if you hear of a picket, show some solidarity - go and visit - and send us a report!
Marxism 2014

A reminder about this year's Marxism festival, which has some fantastic speakers and meetings.

A hot pick for me will be the one on the legacy of Paul Foot, with speakers including John Pilger, Darcus Howe, Gareth Pierce and Matt Foot!
